The Heaven Branch
Established three years ago, and now with more than 300 members, The Heaven Branch provides comfort and assistance to grieving supporters within the community, rooted through a shared love for the Club.
Supporters can seek guidance through one-to-one counselling sessions while being offered commemorative keepsakes such as coffin flags, pitch clippings and love bugs.
There are also various events throughout the calendar year for supporters to enjoy such as talk-ins, workshops and parties.
In 2024, The Heaven Branch welcomed James Allen, the founder of Sunderland AFC, as its honorary president, with the full blessing of his family. This highlights the deep roots and enduring legacy of the Club’s community spirit.
In early 2025, work will commence on expanding the memorial area outside the front of the Stadium of Light. This enhanced space will provide a serene setting for families to scatter ashes and honour their loved ones.
The Heaven Branch remains committed to growing its community and widening its impact across the Sunderland AFC fanbase. Together, the aim is to ensure that every Sunderland fan is remembered and celebrated as part of our cherished club family.
