If a child or an adult at risk becomes lost during a match day, please go to your nearest steward who will be able to assist and support you whilst they contact Match Control. If you cannot see a steward, please notify any member of SAFC staff who will be able to contact Match Control so the correct professionals can be notified including the police.
All enquiries will be made on site initially however if the child/adult is unable to be located within the ground the police will lead on this investigation.
SAFC will support parents/guardians during this process.
If a child/adult at risk becomes separated from their parents and or adult they are attending the match with they can approach any steward within the ground who will request the attendance of a Safeguarding Officer.
The Safeguarding Officer will take the child/adult to a place of safety and where possible will try and contact the parent/guardian. If the child/adult knows their seat number, we will try to reunite the child/adult with their parents/guardian.
If the child/adult is unable to provide either of the above a tanoy will be sent out to request the parents or guardian attend the area the child/adult is located in.
If we are unable to reunite a child or adult with their parent/guardian, we will then report this to the police who can support with reunification.
If safeguarding concerns arise in relation to this, we will also notify the relevant Local Authority.
